FAQ

The virtual reality (VR) experience requires at least 4 Mbps of internet upload and 8 Mbps download to function. Apple Devices (e.g Mac, iPhone and iOS operation systems) do not support virtual reality software. You must have access to a VR headset, PC desktop/laptop or android smartphone/tablet. Please check whether your VR device is supported by our VR platform ENGAGE before purchasing your ticket.
No, you do not! If you have a PC computer or an Android smartphone/tablet, you can still participate in YOUNGA’s interactive, virtual experience using 2D avatar mode. Please check the technical requirements to confirm specifications and bandwidth needs. Similar to a first-person gamer view, you will be able to move around the YOUNGA worlds with your avatar and network with fellow attendees. Since all attendees in-world appear as avatars, others cannot tell the difference between those who have VR headsets and those who are participating via a PC or android smartphone/tablet. The main difference is the sensory experience—headsets will expand the spatial awareness and immersive effect.
Apple devices (e.g Mac, iPhone and iOS operation systems) do not support virtual reality (VR) software. If you are interested in the VR experience, you have three options:
  1. Consider renting or borrowing a VR headset
  2. Find a friend, family member, school or work colleague that has a PC desktop/laptop or Android smartphone
  3. Partition your Mac to run a Windows operating system
If you cannot access the required devices, you can still watch the YOUNGA live virtual premiere in regular 2D mode via our live stream on a social media platform like YouTube, Facebook or TikTok. Although you are not able to access the in-world VR networking, you are invited to join us for our Virtual Premiere Party alongside YOUNGA founding chair, select influencers and our Youth Delegates. This will be hosted on Zoom and accessible across any device with access to the internet.
By purchasing a ticket, you are guaranteed access to the YOUNGA VR Spectacular and help offset essential costs such as server upgrades and the per person hosting charges associated with putting on a fully immersive and virtual global broadcast event of this scale. Server capacity needs are determined based on registration numbers so if attendees don’t show, we still incur the cost, not to mention it takes a spot away from someone else who could have benefited from the experience. The ticket fees also enable us to make this transformative experience available for free to a minimum of 1,000 youth delegates nominated by nonprofit and charity partners around the world. Please note all sales are final after October 1, 2020. Refunds will not be given within 30 days of the event date.
Both, the 2020 YOUNGA Forum VR spectacular and our limited edition content library are in English. We acknowledge language can be a barrier to participation and aim to prioritize a multi-lingual program for 2021. If you have any partner recommendations to assist with translation, we invite you to please contact us.
